The University of Kansas Elizabeth Prostic Post-Doctoral Fellowship
The MetaCancer Foundation has partnered with The University of Kansas Cancer Center to fund the inaugural year of the Elizabeth Prostic Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the university's Breast Cancer Survivorship Center. After a competitive process to identify fellowship candidates, the University of Kansas Medical Center selected Susan Krigel, PhD, as its first recipient for 2010-2011. During her fellowship, Susan will identify patients with psychosocial health needs, work with an interdisciplinary team of oncology and palliative care professionals in the emotional care of patients and their families, and undertake a research project focused on psychosocial issues related to metastatic cancer.
"This newly established Elizabeth Prostic Post-Doctoral Fellowship teams metastatic cancer patients and their families with an experienced psychosocial professional," stated Michael Lundblad, President of The MetaCancer Foundation. "Through research and psychosocial care, this program addresses our mission of improving the lives of those people living with metastatic cancers."
